First Look: The Return of the Franklin Armory Reformation
SHARE

Franklin Armory is resuming production and sales of its Reformation firearm. Based on the ruling issued last month in its prevailing lawsuit against the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the company will begin shipping a variety of Reformation model configurations to dealers for sale to consumers.

The Reformation features Franklin Armory’s patented straight-cut land-and-groove design and is classified as neither a rifle nor a shotgun. Rather, Reformation is simply a “firearm” that is regulated only by the Gun Control Act (GCA) of 1968. Since Reformation is not a National Firearms Act (NFA) firearm, no tax stamp is required. FFLs can now transfer Reformation as a GCA-only firearm just like other similarly classified firearms, including the Mossberg Shockwave, Remington Tac-14 and Franklin Armory’s own XO-26. Both 7.5-inch and 11.5-inch barrel length versions of the Reformation are now available for purchase through Franklin Armory’s dealer network in most US states.

Each Reformation model features the patented NRS (Not a Rifle or Shotgun) barrel technology and offers the consumer a choice of either a traditional semi-automatic trigger or Franklin Armory’s patented Binary Firing System, allowing a single round to be fired on both the pull and release function of the trigger.

The Reformation firearms are built on a forged-aluminum upper and lower receiver set, with either a 7.5-inch barrel or an 11.5-inch barrel with a matching Franklin Armory FST handguard. The guns have a salt-bath nitride bolt carrier, B5 furniture, a pistol-length gas system and Franklin Armory’s linear-compensating and flash-suppressing Triumvir muzzle device. The Reformation RS7 is available chambered in both 5.56 NATO and .300 BLK. MSRP for the Binary equipped Reformation RS7 is $1,179.99. MSRP for the Reformation RS7 with a traditional trigger is $1,099.99. MSRP for the RS11 with a binary trigger is $1,669.99 and $1,479,99 without the binary trigger.

More information on the Reformation as well as other products sold by Franklin Armory is available at franklinarmory.com.
