First Look: Auto-Ordnance Commemorative Carbines
SHARE

Auto Ordnance and Kahr Arms are releasing two new commemorative special edition “US Navy” and “US Marine Corps” Thompson M1 .45 ACP semi-automatic carbines. The Auto Ordnance M1 Thompson model is a replica of the famous American submachine gun of World War II, the M1.

Even though these models have 16-inch barrels and fire in semi-automatic mode only, Auto Ordnance still offers the same attention to craftsmanship today that made the original Thompson so highly regarded. This replica’s look and feel are authentic, right down to the side charging handle that was unique to wartime M1 models rather than the top-located charging handle found on previous examples.

These carbines’ frames and receivers are milled from solid steel or aluminum, and all of their wood is genuine American walnut. They are also manufactured to modern engineering standards while still retaining the spirit of their ancestors.

In the case of these two U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps special edition models, Auto Ordnance collaborated with Altered Arsenal with the graphics, Cerakote finishing and other artistic details. These new products are meant to showcase both the U.S. Marine Corp and the U.S. Navy’s valor and rich histories that date all the way back to the last 250 years of service.

US Navy M1 Commemorative

This model sports a white Cerakote finish across its barrel and receiver, as a nod to white naval uniforms. The left side of the receiver displays “NAVY” in bold lettering, proudly signifying service and tradition. On the right, precision engravings mark the “250TH ANNIVERSARY” alongside a commemorative crest, celebrating a historic milestone in naval heritage. The top of the receiver features a distinctive black-and-gold pattern, paying tribute to the gold braid and buttons that define the Navy’s formal dress uniforms.

USMC M1 Commemorative

This model also has a Cerakoted receiver that combines a matte-black upper with a contrasting white lower for a bold, modern appearance. The left side of the receiver proudly displays “MARINES” in durable, vibrant “USMC Red” Cerakote. The Marines model also features detailed engravings of “250TH ANNIVERSARY” and a commemorative crest recognizing a historic milestone in Marine Corps history. The top of the receiver carries a custom red-and-gold design that pays tribute to the iconic Marine Corps Dress Blue uniform, capturing the spirit and tradition of the Corps in every detail.
