First Shots: MAC-5 And MAC-5K Pistols
SHARE

Military Armament Corporation has begun shipping its new 9mm MAC-5 and MAC-5K pistols, which are semi-automatic variants inspired by the classic Heckler & Koch MP5 design that utilizes a roller-delayed blowback mechanism. These models were first introduced at the SHOT Show 2024 held at the SDS/Tisas/MAC booth and are now available for purchase.

The MP5 has earned a reputation as one of the most recognizable firearms designs since World War II, known for its reliability, accuracy, and versatility. Despite having been in existence for over fifty years, the MP5 series and its derivatives, such as the new MAC-5 clones from Military Armament Corporation, maintain a strong market presence for parts and accessories. The company is dedicated to providing a quality version of this iconic firearm at a more accessible price point.

Both the MAC-5 and the MAC-5K are compatible with standard MP5-pattern accessories, including magazines, and they operate in the same manner as the original German models. As civilian-legal firearms, both models function solely as semi-automatics. Consistent with MAC’s retro brand identity, the MAC-5 and MAC-5K feature the classic “skinny” handguard that was part of the first-generation HK MP5 designs. All MP5-pattern firearms, including the MAC-5 series, utilize a roller-delayed blowback action that was derived from the 7.62 NATO HK G3 rifle, which has its roots in the MG-34 machine gun from World War II.

MAC-5 and MAC-5K Features
