Iran War Enters Eleventh Day: ‘Very Complete, Pretty Much’

The Iran War entered its eleventh day on Tuesday as President Trump sent contradictory signals about when the American-Israeli military campaign might end.

On Monday afternoon, Trump told CBS News that the war “is very complete, pretty much.” But later on Monday evening, Trump said that “we will hit them so hard that it will not be possible for them or anybody else helping them to ever recover that section of the world.” He later warned Iran on Truth Social that, if oil does not flow freely through the Strait of Hormuz, the U.S. “will make it virtually impossible for Iran to ever be built back, as a Nation, again — Death, Fire, and Fury will reign upon them.”

Trump said U.S. forces have carried out 3,000 airstrikes since the war began. The Washington Post reported how the Pentagon spent at least $5.6 billion worth of munitions in the first two days of the Iran War. The total cost of the war so far is not publicly known.

The Speaker of Iran’s Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf rejected the possibility of a ceasefire, writing on X that “we are not seeking a ceasefire; we believe we must strike the aggressor in the mouth so that it learns a lesson and never again even thinks of aggressing against our dear Iran.”

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told PBS Monday that ceasefire negotiations are off the table at the moment. “We negotiated with them last year, in last June, and they attacked us in the middle of negotiations. And, again this year, they tried to convince us that this time is different,” he said.

Israel continued its invasion and bombing of Lebanon. Lebanese authorities reported Monday that the death toll from Israeli attacks across Lebanon was 486.Nearly 700,000 people have already been displaced, according to UNICEF.

Iran’s strikes and its effective closure of the Strait of Hormuz, which have forced oil and gas facilities across the Gulf to shut down, caused crude oil prices to surge to $120 on Sunday night before coming down to $89 Tuesday morning. Gas prices continued to rise, with AAA reporting Tuesday that the national average regular gas price is at $3.54 per gallon.
